USEFUL FOR:

Used primarily for the demonstration of calcium deposits in tissues.Method will not stain insoluble calcuim oxalate. Also forms "scarletlakes" with aluminum and other ions.

SPECIMEN REQUIRED:

Tissue embedded in paraffin or preserved in 10% neutral bufferedformalin or absolute alcohol (preferred). Include 1 H & E slide.Note:    1. A pathology report and a brief history are required                        for processing.                  2. Please complete a "Pathology/Cytology In Situ Request                      Form" (Supply T246) or a "MayoConnect Additional Test                      Information Form" (Supply T357) and forward it with the                      specimen. These forms are available upon request.                      Requisitions for this procedure cannot be processed                      unless the information requested is supplied.
